Design Tip du Jour: How to add glam and pizzaz to an eyesore of a bathroom
My client’s master bath was in desperate need of a non-permanent makeover. Because her apartment is a rental, we couldn’t replace her eyesore of a sink, so I designed this fabulous custom sink skirt that completely glamed and uplifted the space.
Not only is the skirt pretty, it’s also practical. I selected an indoor/outdoor fabric from Duralee Fabrics that is water and stain repellant, that way if a little toothpaste falls on it, no fret, it just wipes right off.
It’s these little designer elements that make an ordinary space - extraordinary!
Have unsightly exposed sink plumbing? Give my custom sink skirt design a try.

Monday Funday Decorating Tip:
I love this idea I snagged up recently on my stay at the Viceory hotel in Santa Monica, California.
Give a fuddy duddy traditional style chandelier a new look with a little spray paint in your favorite color that complements your decor, and use globe bulbs instead of the generic candle style bulbs. The effect will be modern, glam and groovy!

How to make a $6 deli bouquet super CHIC…..
It all starts with this beautiful bouquet I spotted while shopping for fruit this AM. Smitten by the raspberry color, I plopped it in my basket.
The crystal vase I got for $12 bucks the Two’s Company warehouse sale a few months ago is perfect for these lovelies!
Steps:
1. Measure the height you want to cut the flowers (*no more that twice the height of your vase) and proceed with cutting all stems around the same length.
2. Remove all excess leaves, otherwise your bouquet will look to “bushy.”
3. Arrange the shortest stems along the perimeter and the longer ones along the center.
4. Voila! Now pick a spot for your chic arrangement where you can admire them all week.
It’s these little moments and efforts that elevate the everyday!
Happy decorating!!
Earlier this week, while waiting on furniture deliveries out in the suburbs, I decided to kill some time and headed over to Home Goods….
Oh my was it a treat! These are some of the items I fell in love with. And just for fun, I created two imaginary room makeovers for my finds. Each accessory assortment is less than $250, which clearly shows, you don’t have to spend a lot to make your space fabulous!
A great piece of artwork, pair of lamps, some pillows and perhaps a rug, can completely transform a space.
I hope I’ve inspired you and that your off to your nearest Home Goods. Happy decorating!
Cool way to display your magazines!
